DSWD Secretary Rolando Bautista said so far, over 1.5 million beneficiaries of the 12 million households targeted to receive the second wave of emergency cash subsidies have been served.
“Actually, ang prinoproject namin ngayon by end of July, makaka-80 percent ng payout. Unang una, nakikita namin na established na digital payment kaya sigurado kami na mas malaki ang maipapamahagi na ayuda by end of July (Actually, we are projecting now by end of July, we can have 80 percent payout. First of all, we see that the digital payment has been established, that is why we are sure that bigger amount of subsidies will be distributed by end of July),” he said in an interview over DZBB.
The second tranche of the SAP has already started, including the provision of social aid to at least 11,000 waitlisted beneficiaries. For this edition, the government has tapped financial service providers, to avoid corruption issues that have hounded the first tranche.
The BSP has identified six qualified FSPs to take on the disbursement program namely GCash, RCBC, Robinsons Bank, PayMaya, Starpay, and Unionbank.
Bautista said they have conducted digital payout in the National Capital Region (NCR), particularly in Caloocan City, Makati City, Pasig City, and Quezon City.
